Congratulations on your purchase of the best retractable awning under the sun. The SUNFLEXX® Awning System, manufactured by Eastern Awning Systems, Inc., is covered by a limited warranty for the period of fifteen (15) years from the date of original purchase from an authorized dealer.
Because of the utmost pride and confidence we have in our product, we warrant to the original purchaser that the framing system and its component parts*, will be free from defects in workmanship and material for as long as this warranty remains in effect. We warrant that the Sunflexx® will withstand, without structural damage, wind speeds as set forth on the accompanying wind load chart. These wind speeds are based on the specific width and projection dimensions of each SUNFLEXX® product as noted therein. If there is no wind load set forth on the chart for dimensions of your particular purchase, the applicable wind speed is thirty two (32) miles per hour.
Under this warranty, we agree to repair or replace, (at our option), free of charge, excluding charges for field labor and shipping, any defective part of the framing system, provided that the frame and/or its component parts have not been abused, misused, altered from original factory design, or installed improperly, and that our care instructions, provided in the original purchase package, have been followed.
This warranty does not cover damage to the framing system and/or component parts caused by faulty installation, reinstallation, service, or failure to adhere to pitch requirements, as set forth in the installation manual.
We are not responsible for damage to any structure to which the awning is installed or attached, or to property or items located above, below or near the awning. Further, this warranty is void if the awning is sold, serviced, or repaired by any unauthorized dealer or service outlet.
We are not responsible to cover damage to the framing system or its component parts caused from acts of nature, such as hurricanes, gales, tornadoes, snow, sleet, heavy rain, winds that exceed our engineered wind load rating as noted above, hail, flooding, weights or loads allowed to accumulate on the awning, fire, or similar hazards, vandalism, neglect, improper use or care, or a combination of the foregoing, or dents, scratches (corrosion, oxidation, rust, chipping or peeling of painted finish) or weathering occurring from normal use, wear and tear .
If the framing system or its component parts mentioned above exhibit defects in material or workmanship within fifteen (15) years from the date of the original purchase, you must within said fifteen (15) year period, promptly notify the dealer from whom you purchased the product, or with your proof of purchase, any authorized Eastern dealer.
There are no other warranties which extend beyond the description set forth above. This warranty is given in lieu of and to the exclusion of, all other warranties, expressed or implied, including warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose. In no event will we be responsible for any consequential or incidental damages.
This warranty gives you specific legal rights, but you may also have additional or other rights which may vary from state to state. 15 year warranty applies to Sunflexx® awnings sold after 6/30/2004.
* Our limited warranty does not include fabric, gear mechanism or optional awning motors or motor controls. For any damage to fabric, gear, optional awning motors, or motor controls, ask your dealer for warranty information.
15 year warranty applies to any SUNFLEXX® awning shipped after 7/1/2004
10 year warranty applies to any SUNFLEXX® awning shipped after 1/1/2001
5 year warranty applies to any SUNFLEXX® awning shipped before 1/1/2001
Updated SUNFLEXX® Warranty Information
We are pleased to announce some important changes to our SUNFLEXX® Warranty
These changes are in effect for awnings purchased beginning March 1, 2012.
Your SUNFLEXX® Awning is now covered by a limited lifetime warranty against manufacturer's defects and workmanship. In addition, your SUNFLEXX® awning is covered by a fifteen (15) year limited frame warranty against arm breakage and frame twisting under normal use. This warranty does not cover your awning frame if you subject it to greater winds than those stated for your size awning. Please refer to our original SUNFLEXX® Awning System Limited Warranty literature included inside your owner's manual as this is an addendum to our original warranty.
